Chronic Infections

Chronic Infections like Lyme Disease and coinfections, MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococcus auresus), reacurring infections in ears or in the urinary tract (UTI), and herpes can all be treated herbally, with or without conventional treatments.

Successful treatments for chronic diseases need to account for an individuals symptom picture and constitution and therefore a consultation is necessary for successful treatment of these types of problems. Please read below for more information about this.

What to expect from herbal antibiotic treatments

Acute and chronic diseases need to be treated very differently.  As disease persists in the body, it sinks deeper into the bodymind. The bodymind responds by trying at each stage, to rebalance itself even if the new balance it finds causes pain, inflammation and other difficulties.  We need to appreciate the wisdom of the bodyminds’ responses even if we do not appreciate the way it feels.  The bodymind does the best that it can given the amount of support it has in the moment.

Herbs lend a tremendous amount of support to the bodymind so that it has the resources to find a balance without disease.  We strengthen the person first and it positively will weaken the disease! Thus, for chronic infections such as Lyme and its coinfections, we do not try to eliminate any ‘bugs’ in the first months of treatment, we focus only on strengthening the bodymind.  This weakens the disease and gives the bodymind the resources to create a new balance without disease. It is important to know that up until this point, the disease was part of the balance of the bodymind.

Trying to remove the disease without strengthening the bodymind will create a deeper imbalance.  This is part of the reason that conventional treatments can be so devastating as it can further weaken the balance that includes the disease.  Herbal treatments can be used with or without conventional treatments.  In some cases, the best course of treatment is use of both.  Because herbal treatments come with few or no side effects, it may be helpful to start with herbs first if conventional treatments are not currently in use.

The balancing actions required for any particular person can only be determined by knowing patient history, patient constitution and current symptom picture.  Diagnostics are also very helpful and can be done in person or with digital photographs in order to choose the most successful protocol,

A Word on Using Herbs and Conventional Treatment:

Herbs can be used effectively for disease with or without conventional treatments and pharmaceuticals.  In fact, in a small proportion of cases using both is the most effective course of action.  The herbs we use and the way we use them do not cause interactions with pharmaceuticals.
